LAB: ACI Initial Fabric Configuration

Topology:

TASK: Follow the below following task to complete the ACI initial Configuration.

TASK1: Verify the Fabric registry, in this Section we are not going to register the fabric as the fabric registration is already done and also verify the Out-of-Band Management.

TASK 2: Configure MP-BGP Route Reflector as per following:

  • AS: 200
  • Make Spine1 (103) and Spine2 (104) as BGP Route Reflector and verify the BGP Peering between Spine and Leafs.

Solution:

TASK1:  Verify the Fabric registry, in this Section we are not going to register the fabric as the fabric registration is already done and also verify the Out-of-Band Management.

Login to APIC Controller and click on Inventory | Fabric Membership

You will see that all two spine and leafs are discovered and registered. (Here in our lab Discovery and Registration Process of Fabric is not covered as while LAB Infra setup, it was already done.)

Note: APIC and ACI Switches uses LLDP protocol to discover themselves and once discovery is done they must be registered manually by providing Node name and Node ID by admin one by one to make the ACI fabric fully configurable. Node ID must be greater than 100 because APIC reserves the ID from 1 to 100 for Future APICs that may be added to ACI Fabric.

Verification: SSH to APIC Controller and run show switch command:

Enter acidiag fnvread command so see the similar information as above.
