Mezzanine Adapters

Mezzanine adapters are also called as Virtual Interface Cards (VICs). These VICs cards are used for both B series serves and –Series rack servers.

These virtual cards can be configured as Ethernet (vNIC) or Fibre Channel (vHBA) devices. All these virtualization-optimized VIC also support VM-FEX technology.

Cisco 1300 VIC, series supports UCS 6200 and UCS 6300 Series fabric Extenders, Whereas VIC 1200 series supports only UCS 6100 and UCS 6200 Series FI.

VIC 1300 Series support PCIe Gen 3.0 for greater bandwidth with network offload support of NVGRE and VXLAN for enhanced performance and can create 256 NICs or HBAs without requiring SR IOV support from hypervisor or Operating Systems.
