Configuring Connectivity Templates

Task

In this part of the lab, you will create a connectivity template for the connection from the border leaf nodes to the external router.

Topology 

Solution

In the blueprint, navigate to Staged > Policies > Routing Policies. Select Create Routing Policy. Create a routing policy with the following settings:

  • Name: external-policy
  • Description: Routing policy between borderleaf nodes and external router
  • Import Policy: Default
  • Export Policy (check each of the following):
    • Spine Leaf Links
    • L2 Edge Subnets
    • Loopbacks
  • Expect Default IPv4 Route (checked)

Click Create when finished

In the blueprint, navigate to Staged > Connectivity Templates. Select Add Template. n the Create Connectivity Template window, set the name of the connectivity template to external-ct. Set the description to External BGP session with external router . 

Select the Primitives tab and then select IP Link. Click the picture of the IP Link primitive.

Click the BGP Peering (Generic System) primitive so that it is added to the external-ct connectivity template.

Click the picture of the BGP Peering (Generic System) primitive.Click the Routing Policy primitive so that Apstra adds it to the external-ct connectivity template.

Return to the Parameters tab.

Expand the IP Link section by clicking the down arrow. Set the Routing Zone to the Default routing zone. Select Untagged and ensure the IPv4 Addressing Type is set to Numbered .
