Troubleshooting Logical Constructs Methodology

When you perform certain changes in a Cisco ACI fabric and create or modify a policy, this configuration updates the logical model. When issues arise, you need to apply proper methodology to inspect individual logical constructs in this model. Therefore, the areas of troubleshooting can include problems with endpoint connectivity and incorrect VRFs, bridge domains, subnets, APs, and EPGs.

The troubleshooting process of the logical constructs is primarily a matter of configuration checks and verification. Therefore, you should review what you think is configured and what is the actual configuration of the Cisco ACI fabric.

The logical constructs in the Cisco ACI policy model define how the fabric delivers its functions. The policies you configure automate the provisioning of applications, network-attached services, security rules, and tenant subnets. This approach ensures that application requirements drive networking behavior, rather than the network dictating application design.
