USDevice Profile
A device profile is used to define hardware and software compatibility with Apstra. When you select the operating system family, Juniper Apstra populates the Version field with a regular expression. This regular expression matches on supported versions of that NOS. Starting with Apstra version 4.2.0, the regular expression for the NOS version is set to “.*” so any version will be accepted.
Device Profile Association
When Apstra installs the device agent for the device, it compares the learned device facts and the selectors (in all the device profiles). Apstra associates the device with a device profile based on the best possible match. Sometimes you must associate a device with a different device profile.
Lists of Device Profiles
Navigate to Devices > Device Profiles to see a complete listing of the preconfigured device profiles. This list represents all the supported devices from all the supported vendors. If your device matches the selectors of at least one device profile in the list, Apstra should be able to support the device.
